Drumskin pulse
革脉 〔革脈〕 gé mài
A pulse that is floating and beats against the palpating fingers. A drumskin pulse is hard on the outside and empty in the middle like the skin of a drum. It signifies blood collapse and loss of essence. Contending cold and vacuity is called drumskin.
It is similar to and, according to some, identical with the scallion-stalk pulse. See pulse examination.
