Properties: Sweet; balanced.

Channel entry: Lung, stomach, and large intestine channels.

Actions and indications:

Dosage and method: Oral: 15–30g raw in decoctions. Alternatively, it can be stir-fried and then chewed, taking 15g at a time.

Warnings: Unsuitable in cases with thin sloppy stool. It is contraindicated in cough due to lung heat with phlegm. While taking it, the patient should not eat lǜ dòu (Phaseoli Radiati Semen).

Quality: Large undamaged seeds with thin husks and yellowish white kernels not exuding oil are the best.

Production area: Zhèjiāng, Fújiàn.
