Phlegm-rheum aversion to cold

痰饮恶寒 〔痰飲惡寒〕 tán yǐn wù hán

Aversion to cold attributed to phlegm in the chest and diaphragm obstructing yáng qì. Phlegm-rheum aversion to cold is associated with generalized aversion to cold or aversion to cold in the back, reduced food intake, heavy limbs, slimy tongue fur, and a slippery pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Free yáng and transform phlegm with formulas such as Poria, Cinnamon Twig, White Atractylodes, and Licorice Decoction (苓桂朮甘汤 líng guì zhú gān tāng), Pathfinder Poria Pill (指迷茯苓丸 zhǐ mí fú líng wán), or Two Matured Ingredients Decoction (二陈汤 èr chén tāng).
