迎香 〔迎香〕 yíng xiāng

Channel: LI, hand yáng brightness (yáng míng) large intestine channel
Modern location: An acupoint located beside the nostril, in the nasolabial groove, level with the midpoint of the lateral margin of the ala nasi.
Classical location: Up one cùn from Grain Bone-Hole (LI-19), five fēn to the side of the nostril. From
Local anatomy: The facial artery and vein, the branches of the infraorbital artery and vein. The anastomotic branch of the facial and infraorbital nerves.
Action: Unblocks the nose; disperses the wind evil; clears qì fire.
Modern indications: Nasal congestion; nosebleed; sniveling nose; deviated mouth;
Classical indications: Nasal polyps; heat and redness of the eye.
Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.3 cùn downward or oblique insertion. Can also be needled medially or upward.
Warning: Moxa contraindicated.
