Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; warm.

Actions and indications: Transforms phlegm; opens the orifices; fortifies the spleen; and disinhibits dampness. Treats epilepsy; fright palpitation; forgetfulness; clouded spirit; damp stagnation; glomus distension; diarrhea; dysentery; wind-damp pain; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and scab (jiè).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–6g) or use in pills or powders. Topical: Decoct as a wash.
