Properties: Bitter; cold.

Channel entry: Liver, lung, gallbladder, and large intestine channels.

Indications:

Clears heat, moistens dryness, and resolves toxin.

interior heat, dryness, and thirst in febrile disease; constipation; jaundice; whooping cough; wheezing and panting; diarrhea; dysentery; red eyes; throat impediment (hóu bì); purulent ear; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and clove sores (dīng).

Notes: This is the dried gallbladder or bile of the pig.
