Notes: This is alum that is heated in an iron work, until it melts and subsequently dries, before being allowed to cool.
Product Description: This product is snow white and opaque. It is light and spongy in substance and comes in rough, irregularly shaped lumps.
Etymology: The name kū fán 枯矾, literally dried (or withered) alum.
