Actions and indications: Moistens the lung and transforms phlegm; engenders liquid and allays thirst. Treats enduring cough; copious phlegm; painful pharynx; bloody stool; enduring dysentery; prolapse of the rectum; mouth sores; gān of the teeth and gums; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–9g) or use in pills or powders. Topical: Grind and apply wet or dry.
