Enduring cough

久咳 〔久咳〕jiǔ ké

From Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, ké lùn). Cough that persists for an extended period. Enduring cough with copious phlegm is usually due to spleen vacuity engendering phlegm. Enduring cough with scant phlegm is usually attributed to insufficiency of lung yīn with depressed lung fire. See spleen cough; lung vacuity cough; fire cough.
