Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sour and astringent; balanced; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Secures essence and astringes the intestines. Treats seminal efflux; enuresis; dysentery; diarrhea; flooding and spotting; vaginal discharge; prolapse of the uterus; hemorrhoids; scalds.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–60g). Topical: Apply crushed or decoct as a wash.
