Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter; cold; slightly toxic.

Actions and indications: Kills worms, relieves pain, disperses heat, disperses swelling, and dispels stasis. Treats initial-stage of fire flow (filariasis); strangury; injury from knocks and falls. Can be crushed and applied topically toxin swellings, burns and scalds, scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn).
