Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter; cold.

Channel entry: Heart, lung, and stomach channels.

Actions and indications: Moves qì and quickens the blood; clears heat and resolves toxin. Treats stomach qì pain; glomus lump; dysentery; bleeding from hemorrhoids; cough; sore throat; mammary welling-abscesses (rǔ yōng); clove sores (dīng); burns and scalds; snake bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (30–60g fresh), grind to a powder, or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed.
