Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet; cool; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Lung, heart, and liver channels.

Actions and indications: Clears heat, cools the blood, and resolves toxin; moistens the lung; disperses stasis. Treats phlegm-fire cough; pulmonary tuberculosis; scrofula; toxin swellings; injury from knocks and falls.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g) or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed.

Quality: Dry plants with small leaves and a fresh aroma are the best.

Production area: Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī.
