Properties: Bitter; cold; toxic*.

Actions and indications: Strengthens the heart and disinhibits urine: Dispels phlegm and calms panting; relieves pain and eliminates stasis. Treats heart disease; cardiac failure; cough and panting; epilepsy; swelling and pain due to injury from knocks and falls; amenorrhea.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–4 fresh leaves) or grind to a powder (0.09–0.15g) Topical: Apply crushed.
