Use: Medicinal

Properties: Salty; hot.

Channel entry: Heart and liver channels.

Actions and indications: Quickens the blood, disperses stasis, frees the network vessels and resolves toxin. Treats injury from knocks and falls; sinew and bone pain; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); nosebleed (nǜ xuè); bloody stool; bloody urine; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Grind dried blood to a powder and dissolve in wine (O.9–3g) or make into pills.
