Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; cold.

Actions and indications: Quickens the blood and disperses stasis; disperses swelling and relieves pain; cools the blood and stanches bleeding; reduces inflammation and engenders flesh. Treats bone fractures; injury from knocks and falls; bleeding from external injury; burns and scalds; sore and boils; mammary welling-abscesses (rǔ yōng); painful pharynx; snake bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: (4.5–9g). Topical: Apply crushed or grind to a powder.
