Category:

Properties: Acrid, bitter, and salty*; balanced*; nontoxic*.

Indications:

Quickens and cools the blood; resolves toxin; relieves pain.

welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū); sores and scab (jiè); dormant papules; scrofula; incised wounds; toothache; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); nosebleed (nǜ xuè).

Dosage & Method: Topical: Grind to a powder and sprinkle on or apply mixed; can also be prepared as a paste. Oral: Pills and powders (3‒6g).
