Use: Medicinal

Properties: Slightly bitter*; cold*; nontoxic.

Actions and indications: Checks diarrhea and disinhibits urine; clears heat and resolves toxin; check bleeding and disperses blood. Treats dysentery; painful urination; limp weak legs; generalized pain and heat effusion; sore throat; snake bites; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and boils.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g).
