Properties: Bitter and acrid; warm; toxic.

Actions and indications: Resolves toxin and disperses swelling; disperses stasis and relieves pain. Treats wind-damp pain; painful swelling from injury from knocks and falls; stomach pain; toothache; innominate toxin swellings (wú míng zhǒng dú); parotitis; welling-abscesses (yōng), boils, sores, lichen (xiǎn), and generalized inciting; dog, snake, and insect bites; knife wounds.
