Properties: Bitter and slightly acrid*; warm*; slightly toxic*.
Actions and indications: Dispels wind; transforms phlegm; frees the network vessels; kills worms. Treats wind-cold heat effusion; generalized pain; rheumatic arthritis; spleen dampness; abdominal distension; dysentery; cinnabar toxin; injury from knocks and falls; worm accumulation.
Dosage and method: Oral: (9–15g). Topical: Decoct as a wash or apply crushed.
