Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sour and salty; balanced; slightly toxic.

Actions and indications: Dispels phlegm, hastens ejection, breaks accumulation, and brightens the eyes. Treats wind-phlegm epilepsy; fright wind; eye pain; eye screens; external injury; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Use in pills or powders. Topical: Grind to a fine powder and apply mixed or use as an eye dab.
