Properties: Bitter and acrid; cool.

Actions and indications: Courses wind, clears heat, and resolves toxin; dispels phlegm and settles cough. Treats wind-heat common cold; tonsillitis; bronchitis; toxin swelling of clove sores (dīng); snake bites and bee stings.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–60g) or drink juice. Topical: Apply crushed.

Production area: Most parts of China.
