Source: Xiān Xǐng Zhāi Yī Xué Guǎng Bǐ Jì 先醒斋医学广笔记

Ingredients

• Zhū shā gēn (朱砂根 Ardisiae Crenatae Radix, coral ardisia [root]) 15–18g
• Lú huì (芦荟 Aloe , aloe) 21–24g

Actions: Drains fire; frees stool.

Indications: Insomnia, heart vexation, irascibility, and constipation due to effulgent liver fire.

Method: Grind to a powder, add a few drops of good wine, and form into pills the size of firmiana seeds.

Dosage: Take 6g at a time.

Similar: Lóng dǎn xiè gān tāng (龙胆泻肝汤 Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction)
