Mania and Withdrawal Pill
癫狂丸 〔癲狂丸〕 diān kuáng wán

Alternate Chinese names: Diān kuáng lóng hǔ wán (癫狂龙虎丸 Mania and Withdrawal Dragon and Tiger Pill)
Ingredients
- Bái pī (白砒 Arsenicum Album, white arsenic)
- Bā dòu shuāng (巴豆霜 Crotonis Fructus Pulveratus, croton [fruit] frost)
- Niú huáng (牛黄 Bovis Calculus, bovine bezoar)
- Zhū shā gēn (朱砂根 Ardisiae Crenatae Radix, coral ardisia [root])
Actions: Dispels phlegm and opens the orifices.
Indications: Mania and withdrawal, incoherent speech, and abnormal consciousness.
Method: 6 pills once a day.
Warnings: Contains toxic substances, so should not be used continually over long periods. Contraindicated in pregnancy, liver or kidney disease.
