Sìchuān Coptis and Bitter Orange Decoction
川连枳壳汤 〔川連枳殼湯〕chuān lián zhǐ ké tāng

Ingredients:
- Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root])
- Zhǐ shí (枳实 Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, unripe bitter orange)
- Mù tōng (木通 Akebiae Trifoliatae Caulis, trifoliate akebia)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
- Dà fù pí (大腹皮 Arecae Pericarpium, areca husk)
- Dì gǔ pí (地骨皮 Lycii Cortex, lycium bark)
Action:
Indication: Spleen heat wilting limpness due to heat accumulating from fat meat and fine grain. Signs include insensitivity of the flesh, generalized heaviness that cannot turn sides, slackness preventing movement of the limbs, spleen repletion abdominal distension, and scorching heat in the anus.
