Areca Gruel
槟榔粥 〔檳榔粥〕 bīng láng zhōu

Ingredients
- Dà fù pí (大腹皮 Arecae Pericarpium, areca husk) 10–15g
- Jīng mǐ (粳米 Oryzae Semen, non-glutinous rice) 30–60g
Actions: Precipitates qì, disperses accumulations, and expels worms.
Indications: Food accumulation and qì stagnation with fullness in the stomach duct and abdomen, ungratifying defecation, diarrhea and tenesmus, and worm infestations.
Rationale: Bīng láng is warm, bitter and acrid. It enters the spleen, stomach, and large intestine channels. It breaks accumulation, precipitates qì, kills worms, and moves water. It is commonly used for food stagnation and worm accumulations.
Variations: For
