White Powder
白散 〔白散〕 bái sǎn

Alternate Chinese names: Sān wù bái sǎn (三物白散 Three Agents White Powder)
Ingredients
- Jié gěng (桔梗 Platycodonis Radix, platycodon [root]) 3 parts
- Bā dòu (巴豆 Crotonis Fructus, croton [fruit]) 1 part
- Zhè bèi mǔ (浙贝母 Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus, Zhèjiāng fritillaria [bulb]) 3 parts
Actions: Precipitates with warm agents, expels water, transforms phlegm, and disperses binds.
Indications: Cold phlegm binding in the chest with fullness and hardness in the chest (and abdomen), constipation, and coughing up of turbid, fishy-smelling phlegm.
Method: Grind ingredients to a powder.
Dosage: 0.5–1.0g at a time with warm water.
