Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Dāng guī, Táo rén, Huáng jiǔ, and Hóng huā quicken the blood and dispel stasis. Chái hú is used to course the liver and relieve depression. Dà huáng stir-fried with wine enters the liver, quickens the blood and frees the network vessels, expelling stasis. It also conducts the static blood downward. Tiān huā fěn and Chuān shān jiǎ used together disperse swelling and disperse binds and are therefore particularly effective for knocks and falls. This formula can be used for knocks and falls affecting parts of the body other than the chest and rib-side. Add Guì zhī for the upper limbs, and Niú xī for the lower limbs.
