Source: Shāng Hán Lùn 伤寒论

Ingredients

• Guì zhī (桂枝 Cinnamomi Ramulus, cinnamon twig) 4g
• Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 6g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 2g
• Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 4g
• Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 4g

Actions: Resolves the exterior and relaxes tension.

Indications: Abdominal fullness and periodic pain in greater yáng disease patients wrongly given precipitating treatment. Can also be used for tenesmus and abdominal pain with bloated feeling.

Method: Decoct with water.
