Seven Qì Decoction1
七气汤1 〔七氣湯1〕 qī qì tāng1

Ingredients
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) 60g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 60g
- Ròu guì (肉桂 Cinnamomi Cortex, cinnamon bark) (with rough bark removed) 60g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) (!!汤洗七遍,切片焙干) 60g
Indications: Counterflow ascent of vacuity cold; and seven-affect internal bind with hard concretion or conglomeration, gripping pain in the heart [region] and abdomen, and inability to eat or drink.
Method: Grind to a coarse powder.
Dosage: 9g at a time decocted with three slices of fresh ginger before meals.
Notes: The seven qi
appear to refer to the seven affects (qī qíng).
