Ingredients
- Chuān bèi mǔ (川贝母 Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus, Sìchuān fritillaria [bulb]) 30g
- Ē jiāo zhū (阿胶珠 Asini Corii Collae Pilula, ass hide glue pellets) 90g
- Sān qī fěn (三七粉 Notoginseng Radix Pulverata, powdered notoginseng [root]) 15g
Actions: Supplements the blood and stanches bleeding; transforms stasis and relieves pain.
Indications: Ulcers.
Method: Grind to a fine powder.
Dosage: 3–6g 3 times a day.
Rationale: ē jiāo supplements the blood and stanches bleeding. Sān qī is a contracting and constraining agent that stanches bleeding. Chuān bèi mǔ supplements the blood and stanches bleeding.
Variations:

qì pain : Add Yán hú suǒ (延胡索 Corydalis Rhizoma, corydalis [rhizome]), Yù jīn (郁金 Curcumae Radix, curcuma [root]), Jiàng xiāng (降香 Dalbergiae Odiferae Lignum, dalbergia [wood]), and Chuān liàn zǐ (川楝子 Toosendan Fructus, toosendan [fruit]). Dual vacuity of qì and blood : Add raw Huáng qí (黄芪 Astragali Radix, astragalus [root]), Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root]), Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]), Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria), Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica), and Bái sháo (白芍 Paeoniae Radix Alba, white peony [root]).
