Properties: Acrid; warm; nontoxic*.
Channel entry: Heart, liver, and spleen channels.
Indications:
- Quickens the blood and dispels stasis; stanches bleeding and relieves pain: chest and rib-side pain;
injury from knocks and falls ; bleeding from incised wounds. - Repels foulness, harmonizes the center, and checks vomiting: Internal obstruction by foul turbidity with retching and vomiting and abdominal pain.
Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (3–6g); take as a powder (1–2g). Topical: Apply ground to a powder.
Warnings: Unsuitable for frenetic movement of hot blood.
