Source: Zhōu Pǔ 粥谱

Ingredients

• Yīn chén (茵陈 Artemisiae Scopariae Herba, virgate wormwood) 30–60g
• Jīng mǐ (粳米 Oryzae Semen, non-glutinous rice) 30–60g
• Bái shā táng (白沙糖 Saccharon Granulatum Album, white sugar) (to taste)

Indications: Virgate wormwood is cool and slightly bitter, and has a distinctive smell. It enters the liver, spleen, and bladder channels. It clears heat and disinhibits dampness. It is especially effective for damp-heat jaundice.

Method: Wash the virgate wormwood, decoct, and strain. Cook the rice in the decoction and add the sugar just before the end.
