Ingredients

• Shí yàn (石燕 Spiriferae Fossilia, spirifer fossil) (calcined) 3g
• Huá shí (滑石 Talcum , talcum) 3g
• Shí wéi (石韦 Pyrrosiae Folium, pyrrosia [leaf]) 3g
• Qú mài suì (瞿麦穗 Dianthi Spica, dianthus flower) 3g

Indications: Sand or stone strangury with excruciating pain.

Rationale: Shí yán, Huá shí, and Qú mài are all cool or cold agents that eliminate damp-heat and disinhibit urination. Qú mài clears heat and disinhibits water. All four agents enter the bladder channel, and all four are specifically indicated for strangury and inhibited urination.
