Ingredients

• Tǔ fú líng (土茯苓 Smilacis Glabrae Rhizoma, smooth greenbrier [root]) 120g
• Wū tou (乌头 Aconiti et Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, aconite wild aconite main root) 30g

Indications: Persistent large intestinal diarrhea from cold taxation.

Method: Grind and combine constituents, boil in vinegar, blend with flour, and form into pills the size of rice beans (100 mg). Take five pills with warm water before meals.

Rationale: Yuyliang is a warm sweet agent that astringes the intestines. Chuān wū supplements kidney yáng (life gate) and warms the channels. It also relieves abdominal pain.
