Painful Injury Tablet
伤痛宁片 〔傷痛寧片〕 shāng tòng níng piàn

Ingredients
- Bái zhǐ (白芷 Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Dahurian angelica) 500g
- Xiāng fù (香附 Cyperi Rhizoma, cyperus [rhizome]) (processed) 310g
- Shān nài (山柰 Kaempferiae Rhizoma, kaempferia [root]) 310g
- Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum) 64g
- Yán hú suǒ (延胡索 Corydalis Rhizoma, corydalis [rhizome]) (stir-fried with vinegar) 64g
- Rǔ xiāng (乳香 Olibanum , frankincense) (processed) 31g
- Mò yào (没药 Myrrha , myrrh) (processed) 31g
- Gān sōng (甘松 Nardostachydis Radix et Rhizoma, nardostachys [root]) 31g
Actions: Disperses stasis and relieves pain.
Indications: Injury from knocks and falls,
Dosage: 5 tablets (more for serious cases) twice a day. Take with water. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Rationale: Rǔ xiāng and Mò yào quicken the blood and dispel stasis. They thereby disperse swelling and relieve pain. Xiāng fù, Yán hú suǒ, Xì xīn, and Gān sōng rectify qì and relieve pain. Bái zhǐ and Shān nài, which are commonly used for knocks and falls or any pain due to stagnation and stasis, also help to relieve pain.
