Three Transformations Decoction
三化汤 〔三化湯〕sān huà tāng
Source: Yī Xué Fā Ming 医学发明
Ingredients:
- Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb)
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark)
- Zhǐ shí (枳实 Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, unripe bitter orange)
- Qiāng huó (羌活 Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, notopterygium [root])
Action: Frees the stool and dispels wind.
Indication: Wind stroke with external channel signs (hemiplegia, deviated eyes and mouth etc.) and internal signs as constipation with dry stool, and glomus and fullness in the stomach duct and abdomen.
