Halite Decoction
戎盐汤 〔戎鹽湯〕 róng yán tāng

Ingredients
- Qīng yán (青盐 Halitum , halite) 0.5g
- Dì gǔ pí (地骨皮 Lycii Cortex, lycium bark) 3g
- Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum) 1.5g
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 3g
Indications: Kidney vacuity toothache.
Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Róng yán is cold and salty, and enters kidney channel. It cools the blood, and is used for bleeding or ulceration of the eyelids and mouth. It is also specifically indicated for toothache. Dì gǔ pí is a cold sweet agent that clears heat and cools the blood. It commonly used to treat patterns involving kidney vacuity such as dispersion-thirst and vacuity taxation
