Morning Glory Pill
牵牛丸 〔牽牛丸〕 qiān niú wán

Ingredients
- Yán hú suǒ (延胡索 Corydalis Rhizoma, corydalis [rhizome]) 20g
- Bǔ gǔ zhī (补骨脂 Psoraleae Fructus, psoralea [fruit]) (stir-fried) 20g
- Hēi chǒu (黑丑 Pharbitidis Semen Atrum, black morning glory [seed]) (stir-fried) 30g
Indications: Lumbar pain due to cold qì.
Method: Grind all agents to a fine powder, mixed with crushed, baked garlic, and form into 300 mg pills.
Dosage: 15 pills 3 times a day before meals.
Rationale: Bǔ gǔ zhī warms the kidney. Yán hú suǒ quickens the blood and relieves pain. Qiān niú zǐ is a mild precipitant. There are many formulas for treating impediment (bì), but few contain Qiān niú zǐ or other precipitants.
