Thoroughly Pounded Paste
千捶膏 〔千捶膏〕 qiān chuí gāo

Ingredients
- Bì má zǐ (蓖麻子 Ricini Semen, castor bean) 2,400g
- Sōng xiāng fěn (松香粉 Pini Resina Pulverata, powdered rosin) 300g
- Qīng fěn (轻粉 Calomelas , calomel) 30g
- Qiān dān (铅丹 Minium , minium) 60g
- Yín zhū (银朱 Yinzhu
XXX , vermilion) 60g - Chá yóu (茶油 Cameli Oleum, tea seed oil) 48g
Actions: Clears swelling and dispels putridity; engenders flesh and relieves pain.
Indications: Boils, welling-abscess (yōng), and clove sores that form yáng patterns, either in their initial stage or after bursting if they continue to suppurate.
Method: Crush the castor beans with a pestle and mortar, then gradually add the powdered rosin, calomel, minium and vermillion, and the tea oil (in that order). Pound thoroughly (literally 1,000 times) to a paste.
