Ingredients:

• Qīng dài (青黛 Indigo Naturalis , indigo) 2g
• Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 2g
• Shí gāo (石膏 Gypsum Fibrosum, gypsum) (calcined) 20g
• Yān jiāo (烟胶 Coriarii Fuligo Oleacea, tannery tar) 20g
• Kū fán (枯矾 Alumen Dishydratum, calcined alum) 36g
• Fán shì lín (凡士林 Petrolatum , petroleum jelly) 200g

Action: Clears heat; relieves itching; promotes contraction and astriction.

Indication: Eczema, especially exudative eczema.

Method: Grind to a powder and mix with petroleum jelly, and apply topically.

Rationale: Qīng dài and Huáng bǎi clear heat. Calcined Shí gāo and tannery tar contract and astringe. Kū fán is also an astringent, and has the additional effect of relieving itching.
