面痛一号方 〔面痛一號方〕miàn tòng yī hào fāng

Ingredients:
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome])
- Jú huā (菊花 Chrysanthemi Flos, chrysanthemum [flower])
- Jīng jiè (荆芥 Schizonepetae Herba, schizonepeta)
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome])
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel)
- Chán yī (蝉衣 Cicadae Periostracum, cicada molting)
- Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root])
- Dān pí (丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark])
- Dān shēn (丹参 Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix, salvia [root])
- Dì lóng (地龙 Pheretima , earthworm)
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
Action:
Indication: Facial pain due to wind due to wind-heat with phlegm obstructing the network vessels. Such pain us usually a period burning or stabbing pain. Sometimes there is a trigger point at the side of the nose or mouth. It usually affects the middle or lower part of the face. The upper and lower parts of the face both be affected, but it is rare that the left and right sides are both affected.
