Léi's Membrane Source Diffusion Method
雷氏宣透募原法 〔雷氏宣透募原法〕 léi shì xuān tòu mù yuán fǎ

Ingredients
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) (processed with ginger) 3g
- Dà fù pí (大腹皮 Arecae Pericarpium, areca husk) 4.5g
- Cǎo guǒ (草果 Tsaoko Fructus, tsaoko [fruit]) (roasted) 2.4g
- Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) (stir-fried with wine) 1.5g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 1.5g
- Huò xiāng (藿香 Pogostemonis Herba, patchouli) 3g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) (processed with ginger) 4.5g
Indications: Evil obstructing the membrane source (mò yuán) characterized by
Rationale: Hòu pò, Bīng láng, and Cǎo guǒ reach the membrane source, and discharge the damp turbidity. They are supported by Huò xiāng, Bàn xià, and Shēng jiāng, which help to disinhibit qì and transform dampness. They are assisted by Huáng qín which clears the heat brewing in the dampness. Gān cǎo harmonizes the center.
