Membrane source

A membrane of the chest or diaphragm not clearly defined. In the doctrine of warm diseases, the term denotes a location between the exterior and interior so that evil in the membrane source therefore corresponds to midstage patterns in the doctrine of cold damage. See scourge epidemic.
