Ingredients

• Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb) 96 kg
• Huáng jiǔ (黄酒 Vinum Aureum, yellow wine) 48 kg

Actions: Dispels damp-heat from the bowels and viscera; disperses stagnation and frees the stool.

Indications: Gastrointestinal damp-heat accumulating and gathering, with dry bound stool and abiding food that fails to be dispersed.

Method: The rhubarb is crushed, mixed with the wine, sealed in pot, double-boiled, steamed for 3 days and nights; it is then sun-dried, ground to a powder, blended with honey, and finally formed pills.

Dosage: 6g at a time swallowed with warm water.
