Source: Jiǎo Qì Zhì Fǎ Zǒng Lù 脚气治法总录

Ingredients

• Bā jiǎo huí xiāng (八角茴香 Anisi Stellati Fructus%#%, star anise) (stir-fried) 10g
• Dì lóng (地龙 Pheretima , earthworm) (stir-fried) 10g
• Chuān wū (川乌 Aconiti Radix, aconite main root) (blast-fried) 10g
• Wū yào (乌药 Linderae Radix, lindera [root]) (grated)10g
• Qiān niú zǐ (牵牛子 Pharbitidis Semen, morning glory [seed]) (stir-fried) 10g

Indications: Wind toxin and damp qì; cold mounting (hán shàn) abdominal pain.

Method: Grind to a powder, boil in wine, and form into 300 mg pills. Take 15 pills twice a day before meals.

Rationale: Bā jiǎo huí xiāng is a warm acrid sweet agent that warms yáng, disperses cold, and rectifies qì. Dì lóng is cold and frees the network vessels. Chuān wū expels cold-damp, disperses wind, warms the channels, and relieves pain. Wū yào disperses cold and relieves pain. Qiān niú zǐ seed precipitates qì.
