Collapse
亡 〔亡〕wáng
Acute, critical forms of vacuity. High fever, great sweating, fulminant vomiting, fulminant diarrhea, and heavy bleeding may all lead to severe depletion of yáng qì and yīn blood. In such cases, both yáng qì and yīn humor are damaged. Since yīn and yáng are interdependent, when yīn collapses yáng has no support and scatters, and when yáng collapses, yīn humor is no longer produced and is gradually depleted. Thus, yīn collapse may swiftly cause yáng collapse, and yáng collapse invariably causes damage to yīn. See
Etymology
