The appearance of heat signs in disease of a cold nature developing to a critical stage. When a disease is at root a yīn pattern, the appearance of red face, thirst, flailing of the arms and legs, and a large floating pulse is described as a yīn pattern resembling yáng. This is the same as true cold and false heat.
