Yáng brightness (yáng míng) blood amassment

阳明蓄血 〔陽明蓄血〕yáng míng xù xuè

A disease pattern in which yáng brightness (yáng míng) evil heat binds with pre-existing static blood. Signs include forgetfulness and hard black stool that is easily passed. On Cold Damage (伤寒论 shāng hán lùn) states, In yáng brightness (yáng míng) patterns, when the patient has forgetfulness, there must be blood amassment, the reason for this being the presence of enduring static blood; hence there is forgetfulness and stool that, though hard, is nevertheless easily passed, and that must be black. This is treated with Dead-On Decoction (抵当汤 dǐ dàng tāng).
