Yáng linking vessel

阳维脉 〔陽維脈〕yáng wéi mài

One of the eight extraordinary vessels. Abbreviation: YAL. A vessel that starts from BL-63 (Metal Gate, 金门 jīn mén), ascends the lateral aspect of the lower limb, and passes over the rib-side to the shoulder blade, from where it ascends to behind the ear and the side of the head. Disease of this vessel mainly manifests in alternating heat and cold.
